<ArticleTitle>The Association of Mindfulness with Nutritional Status of Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Cross-sectional Study</ArticleTitle>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt; Background&lt;/strong&gt;: Mindfulness has emerged as a promising adjunctive approach in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), potentially affecting nutritional behaviors, glycemic control, and psychological well-being. This study explores the association of mindfulness with nutritional status among adults with T2DM.&lt;br&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Methods: &lt;/strong&gt;This cross-sectional study included 151 patients (86.8% female, mean age 60.4 ± 9.4 years) with T2DM who were recruited from healthcare centers in Maragheh, Iran from Oct 2023 to Mar 2024. Anthropometric indices, blood pressure (BP), and fasting blood sugar (FBS) were precisely assessed. We assessed participants’ nutritional status using the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), appetite with the Comprehensive Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (CNAQ), and mindfulness through the Five-Factor Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ). Additionally, we evaluated dietary intake using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Associations between mindfulness and nutritional and clinical parameters were analyzed using appropriate statistical analyses.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Findings: &lt;/strong&gt;Most participants were overweight (mean of BMI: 29.5 ± 4.6 kg/m²) and had good nutritional status per MNA (80.1% normal, 19.9% at risk, none malnourished). The average FFMQ score was 135.8 ± 11.6, with 93.4% demonstrating good mindfulness. Appetite was sufficient in 58.9% of participants and moderate in 41.1%. Age had a significant reverse association with appetite. Mindfulness had no significant associations with DM duration, appetite, or nutritional status (P &gt; 0.05). Similarly, weight, BMI, FBS, and blood pressure did not significantly correlate with mindfulness or appetite scores.&lt;br&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusion: &lt;/strong&gt;While the majority of T2DM patients exhibited good mindfulness and nutritional status, this study did not find any significant associations between mindfulness and nutritional status, FBS, and BP. Therefore, regarding limited and some inconsistent data in this area, future observational studies or clinical trials are needed to clarify whether mindfulness can exert sustained and clinically relevant effects on nutritional status and metabolic parameters in diabetes.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Introduction&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;em&gt;&lt;span&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;span&gt;, a free-living amoeba found in various environments, is an opportunistic pathogen, especially affecting immunocompromised patients with conditions like granulomatous amoebic encephalitis and &lt;em&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt; keratitis. Despite the global significance of this pathogen, data on its prevalence in hospital dust in Iran is limited.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Methods&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;span&gt;This study assessed &lt;em&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt; in hospital dust from three major hospitals affiliated with Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Iran. A total of 96 dust samples were collected from various wards. Morphological analysis using non-nutrient agar culture identified cyst-like forms, followed by PCR to confirm and quantify &lt;em&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt; presence.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Results:&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;span&gt;Six samples showed &lt;em style=&quot;mso-bidi-font-style: normal;&quot;&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt;-like cysts, with PCR confirming DNA in 16 samples (16.6%), indicating notable prevalence in hospital dust. Positive samples were mainly from corridors (68.75%), general care rooms (25%), and ICUs (6.25%), with no detection in surgical wards. A significant association was observed between location and &lt;em style=&quot;mso-bidi-font-style: normal;&quot;&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt; presence (p &lt; 0.001).&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Conclusion: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;These findings highlight the importance of monitoring &lt;em&gt;Acanthamoeba&lt;/em&gt; in hospitals, given its capacity to cause severe infections in vulnerable patients. Enhanced sanitation and environmental monitoring may help minimize exposure and reduce infection risk.&lt;/span&gt;</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and Objective&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;span&gt;Health system resilience, particularly in the face of chronic stress and acute shocks, is a crucial aspect of healthcare management. This study aimed to examine human resource resilience, specifically identifying and ranking the key determinants and indicators essential to a resilient health workforce. &lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Method&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;span&gt;In this study, trend and pattern analysis of performance measures were used to identify indicators of workforce resilience in the health system.&lt;span&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Participants were recruited using purposive and snowball sampling.&lt;span&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;The factors affecting resilience and their linkage were identified and prioritized using the fuzzy Delphi method and the analytic hierarchy process.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Results&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;span&gt;Our findings can help advance understanding of health system resilience, refine existing models and theories, and provide new conceptual frameworks. Practical implications included recommendations for health system managers, policy implications for health care governance, and strategies for increasing resilience in practice.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions&lt;/strong&gt;: &lt;span&gt;This study acknowledged methodological limitations and potential biases and suggests future research directions to address identified gaps and emerging areas in health system resilience management. Moreover, our study can provide valuable insights into the complex dynamics of health system resilience and offer practical recommendations for strengthening healthcare management in the face of adversity.&lt;/span&gt;</Abstract>
